Matthew 7:21-23
These three verses in Matthew 7 and the story of the Sheep and Goats in Matthew 25 may be among the harshest words we can imagine coming from our Lord's mouth. May God give us the grace to listen to them carefully.Today's reading prompts a question. How can we be working "in Jesus name" and not know him? How can it be that some would cast out demons and others prophecy, but not know him? How could I teach a Sunday school class, preach a sermon, visit the nursing home or build a shelter for the homeless but not know Jesus?
The answer may be obvious to us. During 40 Days 'till Easter, it seems appropriate to ask and take some time answering.
