Today's discussion question: Why do you think Jesus points out this woman’s deed?


When the satan tempted Jesus to jump from the Temple, Jesus replied, "It is said, 'You are not to put the Lord your God to the test."  This week we are contrasting the ideas of testing God versus trusting God.


One might wonder if the act of contributing one's last two copper coins counts as testing God's promise to provide. On the other hand, surely we do not doubt that she trusted God.  Is there a difference between Jesus placing his body in God's invisible hands and this widow placing her only money in God's invisible hands?
